The Four Usual Suspects When Ice Stops
- Water inlet valve — the electrically controlled valve behind the fridge that feeds the icemaker. When it weakens, you get small, hollow, or no cubes.
- The icemaker module itself — motor, thermostat, or ejector failures inside the unit. Sometimes repairable, often a straightforward module swap.
- A clogged water filter — the cheapest fix on the list. If your filter is past six months old, we check it first, and we'll tell you if that's all it was.
- A frozen supply line — a slow-flow line freezes solid inside the door or the back panel. We thaw it and fix the flow problem that caused it, or it just freezes again.
